Cycling Ireland Mountain Bike Fest

 

PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN BIKE IF YOU HAVE ONE AS SPARE BIKES WILL BE VERY LIMITED TOMORROW.

On Sunday 13th August, Cycling Ireland will once again hold Mountain Bike Fest in Bike Park Ireland. The event, now in its second year, is a free event for children and teenagers (and adults if riding with under 18’s) to experience the thrill and excitement of mountain biking.

Cycling Ireland, who are the National Governing Body for cycling, aim to promote cycling as an accessible and enjoyable pursuit, where every cyclist can participate and develop to their full potential. They cover all disciplines of cycling with the focus of Mountain Bike Fest purely on mountain biking which is an exciting sport using specially designed bikes to ride off road trails. It is a great way to have fun, get some exercise and enjoy the beautiful countryside.

Mountain Bike Fest is a “come and try mountain biking” event and on the day there will be various cycling zones and challenges for all ages and abilities as well as fun races, certified coaches on hand to supervise and assist riders. Bike Park Ireland’s Mucky Boot Café will be open all day serving hot food etc (not free).

What is it? Come and try mountain biking day

For who? Anyone under 18 (or adults if riding with minors)

The venue ? Bike Park Ireland, located just outside the village of Ballingarry in North Tipperary is a purpose built mountain bike park with trails to suit all levels of rider.

Last year young people from Tipperary and as far as Clare, Cork and Dublin travelled to Bike Park Ireland for a fun, action packed day on bikes.

When? Sunday 13th August 2017

What time? 12 noon to 4pm

Do I bring my own bike? Yes, but if you don't have a bike, Bike Park Ireland are giving free bike and helmet rental on the day but bikes and sizes are limited and you will have to wait awhile as you will be sharing bikes with others.

Cost? Free....... yes that's correct......FREE.
